Wednesday February 15

 Hello Families!

Please remember we do not have school tomorrow, Friday or Monday due to teacher's convention and Family day. Please see below for an update of what we have been up to!

In language arts students have been working hard to write at least three sentences every day with proper grammar, punctuation and spelling. We have been practicing and introducing new spelling words each week to strengthen students confidence in writing.

In math we have been focusing on place value and strengthening students understanding up to numbers of 100,000.

In Social Studies students have been learning about Peru. It's textiles, food and culture. Students drew a Llama and painted a background similar to a Peruvian blanket.

In wellness our class has focused on positive self talk and growth mindset. Students have been learning the value of talking to them self with kindness and viewing mistakes as road blocks rather than failures. As part of wellness students have been partaking in weekly STEM (science technology engineering and math) challenges. See last weeks challenge below;

Create a heart shape tower using plastic cups and card stock.

                                You will need to create the shape of a heart using red plastic cups.

Remember to use positive self-talk and have a growth mindset throughout this challenge!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Ms. Molsberry
