 Hello Families!

Students have been enjoying working through their multiplication booklets! Please ask your child the skills they have acquired in this area. We also did an Esti mystery as part of our Friday routine! During art students used water colour pencils to draw Despereaux from our novel study. The pictures turned out great and we can't wait for you to see them during parent teacher conferences. In gym students are learning ringette and today they played a game called asteroids.

Thursday November 16

 Hello Families,

We had a very exciting day! Students learned about a very unique fluid called a non newtonian fluid. Our class had the opportunity to make a non newtonian fluid called ooblek. We made hypothesis and adjusted our experiment as necessary. Please see recipe and ingredients below.

oobleck ingredients & equipment

You really only need two ingredients to make this oobleck recipe — cornstarch and water! The simplest mixture to begin with is 1 1/2 cups of cornstarch mixed with 1 cup of water.

We had a great day today including our Remembrance day assembly. Students also had the opportunity to practice working on arrays and multiplication. In Social Studies students worked on their flip books about our earth.

Veterans Food Bank

  Veterans Food Bank

The Veterans Food Bank of Calgary is a service provided by CALGARY VETERANS SERVICES SOCIETY, founded in August 2018, to serve food security and other resource needs of veterans from Calgary and surrounding area. The Veterans Food Bank of Calgary supports veterans who served in all branches of the Canadian Armed Forces, Reserves and first responders.

Copperfield School will be collecting food donations starting on October 30 through until November 8, 2023. If you can donate food items, it would be greatly appreciated. Items that are urgently needed are canned meats and chili/stew, ground coffee, flour, cereal, Kleenex, pudding cups, canned mushrooms, juice boxes, granola bars, cookies, rice, pancake mix, hamburger helper, plastic wrap, toilet paper, mac and cheese, and spices. Thank you for your support.

Monday November 6

 Hello Families,

Today our class had music and practiced their song for the winter concert. For gym we learned how to use ringette sticks and the importance of keeping the tip of the stick on the ground. In math our class did an array scavenger hunt around the school.

 Hello Families,

It sounds like everybody had a wonderful time trick or treating! Today students had the opportunity to go on the laptops! They also worked in their guided reading groups for the second time. Students leaned about regular and irregular plural nouns. Please ask your child about this tonight.
