Hello Families,
Today our class continued our work on place value by practicing our number of the day. Ask your child what this is all about! We also had the opportunity to measure the length of our hallway using the measurement app on our school's I pads. In language arts we finished reading the novel Edward Tulane and in Social Studies we began our studies of Peru!

Hello Families,
This morning students began their day playing Boggle. This helps improve students spelling and word recognition. Students have also been working towards increasing their writing stamina and have set a goal to write at least three sentences per writing period. In math students have been representing numbers above 1000 using expanded form. This morning students also practiced the 2 and 3 times table, please feel free to practice this at home with your child. In science students were given a building challenge to test a variety of building materials to see which ones work the best and why?

We had a great first week back! We began reading a new novel called Edward Tulane, ask your child about it! In writing we have focused on punctuation, spelling and clarity within our writing. We are looking forward to our first field trip in February to studio Bell please send in your forms when possible!

Hello Families,
Just a reminder that students are beginning their recorder unit shortly in music class.
This year the recorder unit will begin mid-January for all students in Grades 3, 4 and 5. The school has a limited number of loaner recorders however they would only be used during class time. We recommend each student order a recorder if they do not already own one. Cost of the recorder and music book will be $10.00, payable through your MyCBE account.

All ordering for recorders must be in and paid for prior to Winter Break on December 23, 2022, to ensure your child has a recorder for January.
The book that comes with the fee will stay at home for practicing and the recorder is to 'live in your backpack'.
An additional reminder is those students who signed up for Lego club will begin tomorrow at lunch time,
